How To Write A Good Online Dating Profile

1. An attractive username

Your username is essentially your online personal brand! If you consider your online dating profile to be your personal advertising tool in the dating world, your username is your brand’s mission statement. Creating your username is actually the second most important step to finding and attracting your ideal partner online. The first step if you didn’t already know, is to have an attractive online dating profile photo to catch attention in the first place. Without a great photo the chances are your username won’t even matter.

A good username:

1. Appeals to men or women

2. Evokes Positive Associations

3. Is unique, clear and easy to remember.

2. Photos that shows who you are:

A good picture tell more about you than thousands of words

The obvious points of picking photos are to make them flattering, and accurate. So select photos that look good, but could also in some universe be reasonably understood to be you. Select photos where you can actually see what you look like. Remember, the whole point of your photo is for someone to evaluate whether or not they want to sex you.

Your photos reflect your taste and your judgment. Men are quite visual and they’re instantly attracted to women based on what they finds physically attractive. Men like and notice confidence, attractiveness, independence and acknowledgement from women. Knowing this about men should give you some insight into what matters to guys and how you can appeal to his wants and desires.

Post at least two to four pictures of yourself. Smart people make their pics work double-time: showing their appearance and their interests. Men are twice as likely to meet women in person when posting pictures of themselfs doing something interesting instead of just drinking or calling (standard stand-by photos).

Be the only person in the picture: It's confusing to people who don't know you, trying to figure out which one you are.

Make sure your picture looks like you right now. This is a common complaint of both men and women at online dating sites. Show your physical appearance and age with honesty. People will find your self-confidence really attractive

Make sure your face fills up most of the main picture frame.

No kids or dogs as your main picture.

The background of a picture says a lot about your lifestyle and who you are. Make it count.

3. Be honest

Don’t lie about your height, age or weight: you’ll be found out soon enough. Don’t pretend to have a better job than you do, or that you’re more prepared for long-term commitment than you currently are. You don’t need to share all your dirty little secrets in your profile, but you shouldn’t use deception to lure dates either. Online dating can be a great way to meet folks who share your particular sexual preferences or fetishes, tread carefully and remember that your actual face is attached to the information you’re putting up. There’s nothing wrong with looking for a little naked fun, but keep in mind that your co-workers, neighbors and acquaintances also have access to the internet.

4. Be genuine

Happiness is attractive! Show people that you like to be happy. We want to know what you look like when you're having a great time—so we can imagine how fun it'll be right there next to you. Online dating is one place where you get to be yourself. Be who you are—so the right person can find you!

5. Spellcheck.

This one should be obvious, but unfortunately it’s not. Make sure your profile is reasonably coherent. Capitalize (but not too often). Use proper punctuation and make sure most of the words are spelled correctly. The exception to this rule: You are a moron who would like to attract other morons. In that case, you do you.
